Math lesson- One thing I can improve on

One thing I think I can improve on is the relationship I have between my friends and I. After today's activity, I realized I am not one who usually initiates but usually let others start first. I think I also need to accept the fact that all my friends are different in their own way so I should not expect all of them to act the same.
Another thing I also think I can improve on is my time management at home and knowing how to priorities my work and rest time.

Chapter 4: Algebra Puzzle

3x3:

Let y be car, p be ice cream and q be umbrella.
• 3y=18
y=18/3
y=6
• 2y+p=21
(2x6)+p=21
12+p=21
21-12=p
p=9
• 2p+q=19
(2x9)+q=19
18+q=19
19-18=q
q=1
Therefore, each car represents 6, each ice cream represents 9 and each umbrella represents 1.

3x4:
Let y be the ladybug, p the gear and q the apple.
• 3y+p=93
2y+p=72
• (3y+p)-(2y=p)=y
93-72=21
y=21
• 2y+p=72
21x2+p=72
42+p=72
72-42+p
p=30
• 2y+q=55
42+q=55
55-42=q
q=13
Therefore, the ladybug represents 21, the gear represents 30 and the apple represents 13.

Post-Orientation Reflection

The three highlights of the orientation for me was the first day where I got to know new friends, the orientation camp and also the badge ceremony.

The "low" moments for me was when I failed in the high elements (in camp), when there wasn't enough food to eat in camp and when the badge ceremony ended which meant orientation ended.

I learnt that I must have courage during this two weeks. I also learnt that teamwork is very important in order to succeed and that we must respect others if you want others to respect you.

For the past two weeks, I found out that I can co-operate well in my groups if I want to, that I have quite a number of ideas in my head and also that I can be quite shy at times. (therefore I do not speak that much.)

In 2011, I am basically looking forward to school and learning through applied learning.

Day 1 Mac attack 1 - Activity 4: End-Of-Day Reflection

Today, I got to play some games and got to know some new friends. I also learnt how I should handle the learning device properly (although I have not gotten mine) and also some basic expectations from the teachers of SST. The reason why I chose SST at first is rather blurry to me now but what interests me now is that SST uses applied learning. My aspirations as a student of SST do well in my studies and be able to meet the expectations of my teachers and especially my parents.
Through the short period of time, I learnt how I should take part in different activities in order to have fun.
